Comments

The content was fairly straightforward and easy to grasp if tutors

and lecturers are questioned properly where it does not make

sense. Attend all tutorials and always question tutors as it proves

to be very helpful in the end. It is important you understand the

fundamentals of this subject as the concepts will be applied

later on in the degree.

The lectures were extremely theory based and not very engaging.

Extensive detail into the math behind statistical theory was

explained although often not actively assessed.

The tutorials were extremely helpful and vital for the

understanding of the unit and very engaging. The tutorials were

structured so as you would follow the questions with the tutor in

real time. Although the time constraint of 1.5 hours led to the

tutorials often being rushed. If one step was missed, getting back

on track would be quite cumbersome, therefore being prepared

early is very important tip in order to stay on top.

The assessment acts as a good revision leading up to the final

exam as it helps identify how well you have grasped theory and

puts the tutorial work into practice. Those who were not engaging

in the group project found the final exam extremely challenging.

The group project requires a report which utilizes the skill and

understanding of carrying out regressions and testing hypothesis

as well as testing for statistical issues such as homoscedasticity

and seasonality.

Engage in the group project as most if it leads up into the finals.

DO NOT get anxious about the starting math as you only require

the understanding of it and the identification of some basic set

equations.
