MASS has teamed up with the Monash University Business and Economics Department to offer volunteering opportunities to our members. The volunteering program will see MASS members visit local secondary schools and giving presentations on the importance of mathematics, statistics, and analytic majors.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attend information session prior to dispatch
- Read through and rehearse presentation materials (will be provided)
- Visit local secondary schools during school hours and make presentations
- Field questions from the audience after the presentation
Qualifications:
- No previous experience needed
- Must be comfortable speaking in front of large groups
- Be a member of MASS
- Be in your 2nd year or higher
- Volunteers are required to have a valid Working with Children Check card after being accepted – this is required before any school visits can be undertaken by volunteers
– make sure to apply for a Working with Children Check ASAP as it takes a while to process
MASS will provide you with all materials needed and there will be information sessions run before your departure.
