Held in May, this is our main networking event for the year. All sponsors are invited to Corporate Cocktail Night to meet our keenest and brightest members. The evening is an opportune chance for our sponsors to scout for talent and an opportunity for MASS members to seek inspiration from their experienced peers and to learn from the best in the field. Our members can mingle with major firms in the actuarial industry over canapés and drinks in a relaxed professional setting. Being our largest event on the calendar tickets sell out rather quickly.
The evening starts off with a welcome from our President and is followed by a short presentation from one of our sponsors. Topics vary from current actuarial trends, advice to new actuaries, and tips on how to succeed in landing your first actuarial role. Following the presentation the evening is open and you are free to enjoy canapés and drinks while networking with sponsors and MASS members.
Due to the timing of our event and the hiring window of actuarial firms, the Corporate Cocktail Party is the best platform all year for our sponsors to scout out prospective employees and our members to present themselves to hiring firms. So if you are a second and third year students looking to walk away with a better understanding of the industry this is a must attend event. For our members that have just started their journey to become an actuary, this event is your chance to meet practising actuaries and learn what the job is like, the sort of skills you will need to succeed, and expectations of hiring firms.
MASS will announce ticket sales before the event through our facebook page and announcements during lectures. MASS members will also be notified through email. Again, these tickets sell out fast so be sure to act quickly after the announcement.
